IDENTOS Inc., a leader in enabling secure access to healthcare and government digital services, demonstrates its deep commitment to advancing healthcare interoperability through its long-standing contributions to the FHIR community, including Clinical Data Repository (CDR) implementations, HL7 Connectathons, and FHIR DevDays. Today, the company announced it has joined the HL7® FHIR® at Scale Taskforce (FAST) as a sponsored member, supported by Smile Digital Health.
The Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) at Scale Taskforce (FAST) initiative addresses critical FHIR scalability gaps to enable a consistent, national approach to clinical data exchange. Launched in late 2017, FAST focuses on building the essential infrastructure needed for widespread FHIR adoption.
While other HL7 Accelerators and workgroups develop specific functional use cases, FAST provides foundational solutions for challenges like endpoint discovery, identity management, patient matching, consent management and secure authentication. This means other groups can leverage FAST's work instead of individually solving these common barriers, accelerating the overall interoperability journey for everyone.
IDENTOS is expanding its foundational involvement, now actively contributing to two pivotal FAST projects:
• Consent Management (FAST Consent): This project focuses on developing a scalable, patient-centric framework for the efficient administration and collection of consent, supporting secure and policy-aligned healthcare data exchange.
• Interoperable Digital Identity and Patient Matching (FAST Identity): Leveraging the latest industry considerations, FAST Identity is building best practices and recommendations for identity matching services and key performance indicators, alongside identity assurance for an appropriate, national, standards-based approach to individual identity matching.
By joining FAST, IDENTOS aims to:
• Drive industry standards and implementation: Actively contribute to defining and implementing the next generation of healthcare data exchange standards.
• Enhance community collaboration and client service: Leverage IDENTOS's deep experience to directly support the broader healthcare community, fostering alignment with world-class experts and expanding our capacity to better serve our clients.
• Streamline industry-wide solutions: Collaborate to address common implementation barriers across the healthcare ecosystem.
• Foster ubiquitous FHIR adoption: Promote the development of scalable FHIR solutions that facilitate secure, real-time data exchange among the right stakeholders at the right time.
• Align IDENTOS products with key standards: Ensure IDENTOS solutions are at the forefront of industry best practices and interoperability requirements.
